Prepare for Statewide Testing in the ALC
ST. CROIX VALLEY AREA LEARNING CENTER -- March 21, 2024 -- Spring marks a time to check in on learning, and that's including students the ALC.
April 8 and 10: Grade 11 math MCA testing
April 15-16: Grade 10 reading MCA testing
April 22-23: MCA science testing
Minnesota Comprehensive Assessments (MCA) testing is set to take place for ALC students beginning in April, with Grade 11 math tests on April 8 and 10 during third period (9:40-11:30 a.m.), followed by Grade 10 reading tests on April 15-16 during third period (9:40-11:30 a.m.). Students that have finished biology will take the MCA science test April 22-23 also during third period (9:40-11:30 a.m.).
Per federal and state requirements, MCA tests will be given this spring to students in Grades 3-8 and 9-11. All families of those projected to test received an initial email, including refusal information, from the school earlier this year.
While MCA tests are important indicators of our academic performance, we also recognize the need to prioritize students' physical and mental health. Additional information about scheduling and other details will be shared directly with students, and please reach out to the principal if you have any questions or concerns about testing this year.
